It’s a catch 22. They say that whatever you focus on, it manifests itself. Let’s say you witness an unpleasant encounter that you do not want manifested in your life. You are so intent on the prevention of this event, that you are actually focused on it and it ends up manifesting in your life.

Do not be upset if someone criticizes you. Rather reflect on the criticism. Consider its validity. If there is truth in the criticism, fix it. If not, don't worry about it.
